: Ron Mueck, sculptor and Guy Ben-Ner, installation artist and film
maker. Mueck lets the viewer revisit the path of life from birth until
death. Ben-Ner focuses on the precise moment when life and relationships
begin. Together, these two artists create a story whose goal is to balance
the physical and emotional elements of the human condition.

environment, la Cité de l’énergie presents it’s
new production combining theatre, music, dance and circus arts. You
will attend the evening show in a revolving, canopied and heated exterior
amphitheatre. You will be astonished by the magical surroundings, the
costumes and the special effects.
You will be accompanied
by the Selenites, the Moon dwellers, to travel into the far reaches
of the celestial canopy. All begins when a child with a dreamer’s
mind doubts the existence of life on the moon. The threat of extinction
of the lunar nation triggered by the scepticism of the child will be
the start of the fight for their survival. In fact, everything will
be done to succeed, including the construction of a spacecraft. Their
goal? Go to planet Earth to deliver a message to the child. Will they
be heard? Or will they vanish forever?

This theme park, the only
one of its kind in Canada, offers visitors of all ages an amusing, entertaining
and educational experience. You will discover the incredible industrial
adventure of Shawinigan during the last century. This includes the second
highest observation tower in Quebec, four interactive exhibitions and
two impressive multimedia productions.
La Cité de l’énergie cruises
Comfortably seated on the Cité de l’énergie pontoon,
let yourself be cradled by the flow of the Saint-Maurice river and the
captain’s stories. He will narrate the history of the river which,
during a century and a half, made timber float to sustain the sawmills
and paper mills of the Mauricie region. You will go upstream of the
Saint-Maurice river to reach the des Hêtres rapids then go downstream
coasting the Shawinigan shore. From the river viewpoint, the city reveals
itself to a new perspective.

La Cité de l’énergie offers you a guided city tour
of Shawinigan aboard a tramway-style bus. You will discover the multi-faceted
history, the architectural treasures, the different neighbourhoods and
the magnificent urban landscapes. The itinerary includes a stop to the
famous Shawinigan Falls and another to the Lambert lookout where you
will have a unique viewpoint on the city and on the Cité de l’énergie
tower. You will then tour through the lower-end and high-end of the
city.

of art
A true cultural, artistic and historical location, the Notre-Dame-de-la-Présentation
church holds within its walls the final masterpiece produced by Ozias
Leduc, the illustrious 20th century artist. The new set-up and media
tools highlight the richness of his art.
La Mauricie National Park of Canada
A conservation site of our natural Canadian heritage, this park is a
part of the Parks Canada network. We invite you to relax in this peaceful
area surrounded with forest and mountains. Numerous activities are suggested
: canoeing, camping, hiking and cross-country skiing in winter. Naturalist
guides present fun and educational activities for families. At the interpretation
centre, you can view the “Mystic Laurentians” slideshow, which

There is a an inside and outisde pool,
a jacuzzi, and free access to an outside gym. Parking is free and the
hotel is less than a block from 5 restaurants. The view gives on the
St-Maurice river.
PS Call the hotel directly, they have specials
whihc the main central will not have. They had a 60$ special for a small
room....darned.

L’exposition La vraie vie met en
scène deux artistes contemporains de renommée internationale
: Ron Mueck, sculpteur, et Guy Ben-Ner, artiste de l’installation
et vidéaste. Mueck permet au regardeur de revisiter le parcours
de la vie, depuis la naissance jusqu’à la mort, alors que
les œuvres de Ben-Ner s’attardent davantage au moment précis
où la vie, et nos relations avec les autres, commencent. Ensemble,
le travail de ces deux artistes invente un récit qui a pour objet
l’équilibre entre les éléments physiques et
émotifs de la condition humaine.

Dans un environnement naturel exceptionnel,
la Cité de l'énergie présente son tout nouveau
spectacle combinant théâtre, musique, danse et arts du
cirque. Assistez au spectacle nocturne dans un amphithéâtre
extérieur, tournant, couvert et chauffé. Vous serez étonnés
par la magie des lieux, des costumes et des effets spéciaux.
C'est en compagnie des Sélénites,
les habitants de la lune, que les spectateurs feront un voyage dans
la mythologie de la voûte céleste. Tout débute lorsqu'un
enfant à l'esprit rêveur se met à douter de l'existence
de la vie sur la lune. La menace d'extinction du peuple lunaire que
déclenche le scepticisme de l'enfant sera l'amorce d'un branle-bas
destiné à leur survie. En effet, tout sera mis en oeuvre
pour y arriver, dont la construction d'une soucoupe volante. Leur but
? Se rendre sur la Terre afin de livrer un message à l'enfant.

la formidable aventure industrielle de Shawinigan au cours des cent
dernières années. Elle comprend la 2e tour d'observation
la plus élevée au Québec, quatre expositions interactives

Croisière
(À la Cité de l’Énergie)
Confortablement installé à bord d'un ponton de la Cité
de l'énergie, laissez-vous bercer par les flots de la rivière
Saint-Maurice et le récit captivant de notre capitaine. Il vous
racontera l'histoire de cette rivière qui, pendant un siècle
et demi, a fait descendre des millions de billes de bois (pitounes)
pour alimenter les scieries et les moulins à papier de la Mauricie.
Vous remonterez la rivière Saint-Maurice
jusqu'au pied du rapide des Hêtres pour ensuite descendre le courant
en suivant la rive du côté de Shawinigan. Vue de la rivière,
la ville se révèle sous une perspective inusitée.

Vous découvrirez les multiples facettes de l'histoire de Shawinigan,

L'itinéraire comprend un arrêt
aux célèbres chutes de Shawinigan et un autre au Belvédère
